The listings

Every venue on this site comes from OpenStreetMap, queried through the Overpass API on 2026-07-28. The query asks for leisure=fitness_centre, the legacy amenity=gym, sports centres tagged for fitness, yoga, swimming, martial arts, boxing or CrossFit, and named venues carrying those sport tags, within a radius of each covered city centre.

OpenStreetMap data is © OpenStreetMap contributors and is published under the Open Database Licence. That attribution appears on every page that shows a listing.

Of 2,090 map objects returned, 235 had no name and were discarded — an unnamed point is not a listing anybody can use. 0 fell outside every covered city's catchment. 1,843 are published.

What is not here, deliberately

• Nothing scraped. No Google Maps data, no JustDial, no aggregator's proprietary listings. Not because it would be hard, but because it would be someone else's data taken without permission, and a directory built on that is one takedown from disappearing.
• No ratings or reviews. We have no honest source for them, so there are none. A fabricated star rating is the single most common lie in this category.
• No price against any named gym. Not one, anywhere on this site.
• No paid placement. Ordering is alphabetical or by distance. There is nothing to buy.

How a listing is assigned to a city and an area

Two things on each listing page are computed rather than copied. The city is the nearest covered city centre whose catchment radius contains the point — 23 km for metros, down to 10 km for smaller cities. The area is the nearest well-known neighbourhood centre within a radius set per area, typically 1.5 to 4 km. Indian neighbourhood boundaries are fuzzy and contested, so a venue near an edge could reasonably be called something else; the page says so.

An area only gets its own page if at least three venues are mapped in it. Below that it appears in the city page's area breakdown and nothing more. Thin pages that exist only to match a search phrase are the reason this category is a wasteland, and this site does not add to it.

The fee ranges — read this part

The fee tables are the reason this site exists, so the method matters.

1. Cities are grouped into four bands by size and market: metro, large city, mid-size city, smaller city.
2. For each band, a monthly range is held for three tiers of gym — budget neighbourhood, mid-range independent, and premium or national chain. These ranges are compiled from membership pricing that gyms and national chains publish themselves, reviewed July 2026.
3. Quarterly, half-yearly and annual figures are derived from the monthly range using fixed multipliers — quarterly 2.7×, half-yearly 4.8×, annual 8.4× — which reflect the discounts Indian gyms most commonly advertise for paying upfront. They are not separately surveyed. The multipliers are printed under every table so you can redo the arithmetic.

Where this is weakest: the bands are broad, and a gym in a premium pocket of a mid-size city can price like a metro gym. Fees also move — upward, mostly — so a table reviewed in July 2026 will drift. And the ranges describe advertised pricing, which is the start of a negotiation in India rather than the end of one.

What the ranges are not: a quote, an offer, or a statement about any business named on this site. If you see a fee figure on a listing page, it is the city-wide range for that tier, labelled as such.

Staleness

This is the honest weak point of any directory built on open data. A gym that closed eighteen months ago can still be on the map. A gym that opened last month probably is not. Every listing page carries that warning rather than burying it, and closures reported to us are removed rather than left to rot.

Send the page URL and what is wrong to hello@amit.marketing, or better, fix it in OpenStreetMap so every map improves. Listings are compiled from open data and may be out of date, incomplete or closed. Always confirm hours, fees and facilities with the gym directly before joining. We do not accept payment for placement.
